Our skin is at its healthiest and purist state at birth. Throughout life our skin goes through many changes and overtime we may develop stretch marks, wrinkles, scars, bruises, and other blemishes. The formation of these marks and the slow process of regenerating skin is unpredictable and organic in color, shape, and texture. For my two “garments" that make up one piece, I am paying attention to those variations of skin and thinking of the fragility of bodies. The garment on the left is meant to represent the body at birth untainted by age and unharmed. The garment on the right is an exaggerated interpretation of aged skin in its final stage of life affected by internal and external forces.
